Whew, we made it to Croatia. It was a spontaneous trip, we rented a car and said Krk or bust. It took us eleven hours to get there, thank God for portable DVD players.
Once we got there, it was beautiful. Very friendly people, a small town easy to get around, and plenty of beach activities for the kids. We alternated sightseeing days with hanging out at the beach days.
Dante’s favorite activity was snorkeling for fish with Daddy, Camron liked looking for crabs and hermit crabs among the rocks with Mommy and Daddy, Larry liked the boat tour we did on the Zara, where we visited several beaches, swam to a cave (with the boys!) and Larry got to do a little snorkeling. Audra liked visiting the Franciscan Monastary on the island of Kosljun, so peaceful. We all liked visiting the town of Vrbnik, which has the smallest road in the world, listed in the Guinness book of world records.
The eleven hour trip back gave us enough time to adjust to the change in seasons. We went from dreamy summer heat to crisp fall weather, mixed with rain. Our first travelling adventure with the kids was great success. Now where can we go next?
